Introduction to the Tenants Supermen

Welcome one and all to the world of the Tenants Supermen: A band that consists of two people but involves everyone....

Formed in 2007, after consuming gassy alcohol down their local pub, Adam Hussain and Gray Taylor aka Graham The Bear bought a keyboard off their mate for ten quid because he thought it didn't work properly. Once the boys took it home and pressed the right button they found it worked fine. They quickly set about writing the simplest but catchiest songs they could think of and formed the Tenants Supermen.

To drum up support the boys performed their first gig in Cardiff at the Buffalo Bar as the Adam Hussain Show. This show included such early Supermen classics as "Brian Was A Fish" and "Cliff Richard Is Jesus"

In attendance were Super Furry Animals who partied like it was everyone's birthday and decided the show would be perfect support on their UK tour. Nutters. For a full expose of this tour check out the tour blog.

Tour managing for the boys was Jamie Sefton who made sure that there was always two Tenants Supermen by counting them constantly. The tour led to them playing Huw Stephens' inaugural Swn Festival, where Jamie joined the boys for the first time as their official live drummer to great acclaim. Following a headline slot at Newport's Legendary TJs, The Tenants Supermen were added to the bill of the Furries and Deerhoof's New Years Eve bash at the Royal Festival Hall. What fun!

In early 2008, the boys supported the Goldie Lookin Chain, where the boys played in both bands and almost died as a result. However, the crowd reaction was great and inspired the boys to finish their self titled debut album that contains a mixture of catchy pop, simplicity and humour and includes the Supermen's debut single 'Blaze On A La Maison' remixed wonderfully by Cian Ciaran of Super Furry Animals. Have a listen to the introductory podcast for snippets of tracks.

Also, Adam and Graham continue their successful DJ sets that began life as 'Two Pissheads and A Microphone' and continue life today as the 'Tenants Supermen Rave Machine'. Avaliable for any party in the known universe.

The Tenants Supermen are currently recording a follow up album with the added luxury of actual musicians. A great benefit after a ten pound keyboard. All aboard to Nutswood! Rock and fucking roll!

Behold take up the cape and party.......
